Default what type of stereo in my 2001 2.8

Hi, just purchased a 2001 A6 2.8 and need help determining what type of stereo system I have. I 6 3/4" speakers and tweeters in all four doors. I do not have the sub-woofersin the trunk. H/U says Audi symphony on it. It any info or suggestions for speaker/sub upgrade would be great. Thanks

Probably the non Bose system (should say bose on lower door speaker as well as the rear sub if it is), but if the components are still crisp and not in need of replacment, any kind of sub would be a nice accent to preserve the stock system, i have a small blaupunkt powered sub, very clean and stock looking, not a hard hitting sub, but enough to provide a little, clean bass. Plus it will cause only minimal (if any at all) future rattling of interior parts, i'll provide the link to Crutchfeild, which is where i ordered mine if you're at all interested. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-6hXIayT...p;i=023THB210A

i have a similar Q? i want to replace my Bose Symphony headunit... i cant stand looking @ the tape deck. I am thinking of getting the retrofitted OEM Nav RNS-E from Proxus.. (http://www.navplus.us/forum/viewtopic.php?t=894)but am a little unsure about it.. its about 1,500.

I am thinking about a Pioneer dvd nav which you can costomize the color so that it can match the dash... however i am afraid that it will disable the internal bose amp (which, ive heard from many is useless any way) and the steering wheel controls.

I have a DEH6900 UB from pioneer in my Passat and although i am not crazy about the sound (ALPINE is waaaayyy better; had one, got stolen) it reads from a flash drive which is great. i have a flash drive dedicated to different genres of music that i pop in ... its great... and if im at someones house i can just throw in my drive and tax their mp3s for the ride home... i would like to keep doing this in my Audi. but very few HU's have this option. any suggestions?

what solutions have you come up with?

comments?

what head unit do you have?

The steering controls if you have it can be used with this stereo...at least that is what the manual says. The thing is that it lights up blue, but for the price and all that it does you just cant beat it. Comes with a 24 gig harddrive for mp3's or whatever you would want to put on there, the navigation, the dvd and a lot of other things.
