Default wheel spacers

friends, how do wheel spacers affect your car?

i saw this sick A6 on the road the other day... the wheels were wayy out and it added an overall symmetry to the car. the care looked like it was meant to!! ever notice that when auto makers draw their concept cars the wheels are always always always spaced out. it adds a balance to the eye.. but what does it do to my performance?

Default RE: wheel spacers

I had spacers on my A6 and it did not impact ride or anything. Looked better, the wheels were right at the edge of the fenders, which is the way it ought to be IMO... I am not a fan of wheels sticknig out past the body but it is a matter of taste.
My spacers were fairly light and high quality, made for Audis. Track is wider sio I am guessing it might help handling a bit but fomr the wheel, could not tell any difference before and after spacers.

I took them off b/c I could not use on my next set of wheels, they were a different offset and bigger, would not have looked right Sold them to a Audizine member in Canada.
GMP Performance has spacers made for them that are high quality and come with the appropriate longer bolts. They are hubcentric... They also sell the H&R spacers.
Call Stephen at GMP 800-438-5074, ext 256. Tell him Brice sent you.

Default RE: wheel spacers

I have a 2000 2.7 and I put some 18X8.5 wheels with 235/40/R18 tires. I used a 5mm spacer from Eibach. The kits were designed for the car. It came with the extra long lug bolts that you will need. I paid $72 a set. I didn't need them on the back, but I put them on anyway to balance things out. My wheels come right to the edge of my fender wells. It didn't change the ride much. If you are going to do spacers make sure they are high quality like FormulaGiGi showed or like the Eibach. The generic kind don't fit right and that will cause your wheel to work itself lose. Good Luck.
