Default Will 245/40/18 fit on an A6 2.7?

I bought a set of 18" Stern ST-2 with 235-40-18 tires. the only problem is that I have to get spacers and the guy said I need 10mm spacers in order to clear the front calipers. so, technically i will have "245" right? anyone input would be GREATLY appreciated!

I have 18x8.5 rims on my 2001 A-6 2.7T Quattro. I am running 245 wide tires on them but I had to clearance the suspension knuckles in the front. I used a die grinder and took about 3-5mm of the casting seam off. I did not compromise the integrity of the part at all.

I also popped out these "buttons" if you will that are on the fender that appear to hold the fender liner in place but in actuality dont do anything.

I can hit a good bump and nothing rubs.. hope that helps.
