Will they work on a 2001 A6 2.7? I hear that the calipers are larger on the 2.7. I'm not even sure what they are from. Just looking for an extra set to use for the summer...

The wheels should fit, they came off an A6, just off the newer model.

 

Those are from a C6 A6, dimensions are 17x7.5 ET45 offset. From those dimensions, my guess is that they will fit, but there is no guarantee. You cannot judge based on these numbers alone. It largely depends on the shape and location of the inward edges of the spokes. The only way to tell is to test fit them. Nobody I know has installed these wheels to an A6 with HP2 brake calipers.
