Default window woes

Hi all
I have a serious problem. I took an out of town trip(to visit a friend in a sketchy area), while on the way I hit the switch for the passenger window to go down, then I heard a crackiling noise and the window went down and won't come back up. Does anyone have any suggestions and pics as to how I should resolve this issue. Please respond ASAP

Thanks in advance

Sounds like the window regulator, we see this all the time.

What year is your car?

For example for a 2002-2004 a6 the part # would be 4B0 837 462C and I would charge about $160 + Shipping and that is for a genuine Audi part not an aftermarket one.

We would charge about 1.5 hours to put it in but if you have some mechanical apptitude you can do it your self.

Could be your window clips. The plastic breaking sound probably was the little plastic clips breaking. Here is the part # 4B0-837-463-B
You will need two of them and they run about 8 dollars each.

Go here for instructions: <http://www.audiworld.com/tech/int45.shtml>

im going for the sliders/guides because the windows goes upish and down so the problem could be a build up of grime in the runners/guides

You'll be needing that window regulator Newport Audi mentioned above.
