worth it? Lightweight Racing Battery
Anyone here has this battery in an A6 2.7T? My current battery weight is 40LBS and this one is only 15lbs so 25 lbs less. I know it is not a lot but I was thinking if the battery works without any issues why not get rid of those extra pounds front the heavy nose. this is the battery i am about to get http://www.tirerack.com/accessories/detail.jsp?ID=31
As a note, I paid 1k for an APR exhaust and I dont think I gained any power but I know I felt a difference after the installation and was wondering if that difference was the weight savings from removing the heavy stock exhaust and installing the APR one.

So the exhaust. I see people feel better buying a $500-$1200 exhaust for zero gains and going really really fast.. 0.0000000000001 second faster

Weight is not a concern however it would be nice if the A6 was lighter. Im 5.8 at 140lbs at 11% body fat.

Exhaust is bit different than a battery change. Personally, I wouldn't get an aftermarkety exhaust on my car unless I went with a larger turbo kit or serious internal upgrade. Then it actually will make quite a difference. Although a properly designed exhaust system, such as an APR kit, will give you a few more horses for a stock car, it is usually for the noise factor. Is it worth it? Hey whatever floats your boat!
As for the battery, I have to admit that a dry cell battery, such as Optima is better than a wet cell. Yes it is lighter, more durable and is not affected by angle and acceleration. But for a daily driving car, I am sure whether there is a significant benefit.

Light weight racing batteries are not designed for the street. They are ruggard but usually good for only about a year and do not do well in cold weather.
The optima is a bit different - it is a good battery with tons of power, but from my experience they have limited life-- not 5 years like many high end standard street batteries
