Which year of the 2.7t a6 is most reliable?
I am looking at a 2000 audi a6 2.7t with low mileage for a really good price. I know the audi s4s changed to better oil lines for the turbos in 2001.5 Is there anything similar with the a6s? I want to know which year of the 2.7t in the a6 is the most reliable. Thanx for the info guys!
I am very happy with my 2000 2.7t that I bought used in January with 89k miles on it.
The PO neglected the routine maintenance but took care of the timing belt.
The rest is easy to handle. I like to perform my own maintenance. Keeps me from going postal at the stealership!

I have a 2003 with 118k miles. I change the oil regularly and drive it conservatively but fast - no jack rabbit starts and avoid pot holes. The only unexpected repair was an alternator around 74k. I did replace the clutch, but original owner towed and I chipped, so I wasn't surprised.
I think in 2002 or 2003 they increased the diameter of the oil lines to the turbos, which helps their longevity. Do a search and you'll find something about it on this forum.

I heard from a reliable that ALL Audi are extremely reliable!!!
Add to that statement the words HOPE (the turbos won't blow up) and (oil) CHANGE and voila! We now have an official political statement with promises no one intends to keep!!!
