2007 Q7 improvements?
My mechanic has approached me about a 2007 Q7 which had backfiring issues (which I understand was pretty common for the 2007 models) and needs a replacement computer chips. I'm considering it, if the price is right -- and if he can get back in good shape. But from I understand the 2007 Q7 's were real gas hogs, and so I'm wondering if there's anything one can do to improve their fuel consumption at all. Another mechanic said that some of the firmware / new computer chips might make a big difference, but it sounds dubious to me.
