Audi A7 2013 Gas cap!
We just bought an Audi A7 before Christmas and we were up north near Tremblant caught at the gas station with an near 80k car and the gas cap door was simply frozen! After 15 minutes outside at -24 degrees, I finally tore open the user book, and then open the truck and proceeded to remove the inside panel to access the manual door opener cord, which by the way, broke!! And so, I was left standing there with no gas, a closed cap which I was ready to tear apart and a gaz attendant laughing at me. After poring windshield washer over the cap, it took another 5 minutes to finally open up! Again, today, at -15, the gas cap door was lock and my wife came home with an empty tank unable to open it up! She drove from downtown to our house on an almost empty tank at -15!!! Surely you expect to pay for security, but then, being caught dry at these temperatures with an empty 80K car is simply, ARRRGGGHHH.. After calling the Audi dealer, they told me to use a hairdryer to thought out the electronic gaz cap!!! Surely my neighbours would have gotten a good laugh at me, so I decided to make room in my garage and bring the car in, out from the freezing wind. After ******* around, the gaz cover plate simply broke off!!!
I was ready to take a hammer to the ******* car.....
My Honday Pilot worth half the price, has 195,000 km and never gave me such trouble. Our car it two months old and reading all the blogs on it, really scares the **** out of me.

i live in texas.. we dont quite get -15 but we do hit 20 degrees here and there..
i would say that you have a problem with you gas door position motor.... i would take it in and have them look at it on a cold day so they can duplicate the concern.
you probably nee that motor replaced, and the new motor will come with a new release tab that you broke.. which those done normally break.. you must have done a quick jerk motion.. its not a parachute.. jsut pull till you feel resistance.. then pull a little harder...
let me know what happens!!
