Default 98 audi a8 quattro leaking coolant

just recently purchased 98 a8 4.2 quattro with 163000 miles on it & it's leaking coolant inside combustion chamber. so I'm taking this engine apart now & having some troubles taking belt pulleys off the engine. do i need any special tools for it? if anyone here did this before could he please share his experience with me.
thank you

I'd strongly suggest getting a copy of the Bentley manual:
Find My Car *-* Bentley Publishers - Repair Manuals and Automotive Books
It is available other places for less.

Also suggest VCDS (VAG-COM) tool from Ross-Tech.
Ross-Tech Store

Both are invaluable tools that will pay for themselves in no time if you do even some wrenching on an Audi.

Yes you need a special puller. You will also need a crankshaft & camshaft holding tools when reinstalling timing belt & cam gears.

Better do your homework on this one before you get too involved or you will end up with an engine full of bent parts!
