Default A8 L used purcahse

hello, thanks in advance for any response, im sure this question has been asked before, but can anyone recommend either for or against used A8s. I am considering buying a 2000 A8L fully loaded with 57000 miles on it for about 25grand. Are they reliable, good in the bad weather, get good mileage? Do they have any ***** to them at all? I am looking for a car that is comforatble, reliable, good in bad weather if it occurs, and will not get a cops attention if I blast by him on the highway doing over 100 mph. I have considered EVOs and STIs, but they are a little ricey for my taste, plus, I wind up dumping moree money into BS upgrades, so I figure an A8 may be good.

Do they have any major common problems with being all aluminum, grounding and electrical problems? when are major services due like belts and h2o pumps etc, and how much shoudl i expect to pay at a dealer, or just in parts and do myelf ( Im a tech). basically, if anyone has any input as to whetehr or not buying a 50 plusk mile , $70 grand new luxury car out of warranty is just asking for trouble, or is it the kind of car you can drive all the time, enjoy, and just maintain?

also, just thought id add, the A4 is a bit small for me, and they are all over the place, the S4 I drove, and didnt do uch for me at all, plus they are hot cars to steal, and i dont need that headache, and on top of that, i will wind up modifying it and losing my license.

The a6 reminds me of a Tylenol gelcap- but the 4.2 is alright, but I really like the size, and undewrstated style of the A8. just have the concern about buying one used, the prices seem reasonable, actually they make no sense, why is it that a 70 thousand dollar car drops so much in thre or four years, and on top of that, why is it that the book values of them are in the mid to upper thirties, but they are selling in the twenties, am i missing something?

Sorry I cant give you any information on a 2000 A8
I have an A8L 2004 and the vehicle is simply amazing
I would recommend an extended warranty because of the complicated nature of the systems and the excessive cost of repairs if you run into a problem. Have you checked the vin number for a history of the vehicle you are interested in?
I would definitely recommend that, Good luck, you will enjoy the car.
