Default Air Bag light

My air bag light came on.

Vag-com displayed open circuit/fault to ground or something like that.

I found a faulty control unit so I replaced the Air bag control unit. PITA broke the vanes in my register! not happy.

I checked the passenger occupancy sensor terminal. It was tight but i cleaned it and cable tied it anyway for now.

I want to bypass it altogether. Always occupied.

Anyone know what resistor to use?

Had the same problem in my 1999 A8. Had to replace the air bag computer that is located under the ash tray just under the radio. It sits on top of the hump on the right side by the passenger side. Instruction manual would have you almost dismantle the car to get to it. But we took the ash tray out and the passenger kick panel out and with some nimble fingers got to the nuts that held it on. Light went out. Got a used one from a junk yard.

Send me a quick pic of the senssor you want me to check and I will get you the ohmic resistance. Or you could just check the drivers side.
