Default Code P2422

Hi Guys,

My A8 (2005) is throwing a check engine light. The code P2422.

Has anyone seen this code before on the A8? A quick check of the forums did not produce any results.

Thanks!

not seen this one before

the 2400 series codes deal with the EVAP system.

as near as I can find, the P2422 code specifically means that the Evaporative Emission System Vent Valve Stuck Closed

hopefully that helps

Do you think this could be a false positive code? If so, should I reset it and see if it comes back?

it is always a reasonable option to clear the codes and see what comes back. some of the codes are temporary problems but the ecu will store the code until it is cleared, even if the problem "goes away"

hopefully one of the A8 gurus will chime in here with what your problem might be. I seem to remember one of the systems on the A8 relies on a cheapie plastic "valve actuator" that seems to be a common fail/break point. Unfortunately, I don't remember what it was called and if it might be related to your issue.

good luck

I had the code cleared two weeks ago and the engine light went away, however it came back today while driving on the highway.

Can anyone chime in on the possible fix for this issue?
