Default Cruise control malfunction

Hi guys,

Can anybody help me with this please ?

I have a 2000 A8, 2.8 with 106,00 miles on.

Cruise control works fine except the "resume" function no longer operates. At first it was intermittent then non operational. Made this transition over a weekend. The other functions of the slide switch that controls "resume" are fine. Any ideas ?

Default RE: Cruise control malfunction

welcome to the club. I've seen a dozen & a half posts, just on AF, about this "feature" with the A8's curise-control stalk. Eventually, like mine, you're will resort to only functioning "intermittently." As near as I can tell, replacing the stalk (I don't remember teh cost, but I *do* remember thinking "for that price I can live w/o cruise control), is teh only known cure.

Next, your headrests (1 or more, of all 4)should begin to randomly cease functioning, too. I recommend "exercising" them REGURLARLY, as they seem to rilly dislike complacent heads that never need to rest in a different spot.
