The workshop said i need new front suspension ( the audi dealer is fully booked up for 3 weeks and can,t fit me in . Being an independant specialist workshop i don,t know they are making the correct diagnois). My audi is 2004 A8 and very expensive for the suspensions. Search the thread I setup on my 2004 Audi and yes it's pretty expensive, I did it my self and saved some money. The pump is probably burned out if the suspension has been leaking for a while. There is more info on the thread "Suspension Issues".

Let me know if you need further assistance

Find a good indipendant Euro repair shop & save big $$$$ having them install a pair of Arnott front struts.

I replaced one strut and the air pump. On this car you don't need to do it pairs. My driver side strut was leaking and the passenger side would lower to compensate for the driver side. The Arnott company link in the adverts on this site did not do the Audi A8 strut at the time and it was $1500 from dealer plus pump $1200. But I think Arnott have it at $750, not sure if the sell the pump.

This is to update the progress of my front suspension issue . The car was towed to Audi dealer service centre in Hong Kong on 21/04/2012 and they finally take a look at the car on 02/05/2012 ( THE CAR BEEN SITTING THERE FOR DAYS ). They said the front suspensions are not leaking but just old age. My car is 2003 audi a8 D3 and only done 41000 miles. They recommend changing the front suspensions, the air compressor, the valve and 4 upper suspension arms as the rubber mountings are crack. The total estimate is 52000 hong kong dollars about 6666 us dolllars which is a lot of money. I am willing to pay but they just won't carry out the repair as they are too busy. I ask whether they will start next week but the answer is they don't know and won't give me a definite date. I am thinking of going back to the independant specialist which they said i need two new front suspensions and 4 upper control arms. The cost is 40000 hk dollars which is about5100us dollars. Audi dealer will give two years part warranty but the independant specialist only give six months. Shall i take a chance with the specialist. I've already complaint to AUDI factory regarding the poor service from Audi hong kong

That sounds like about the worst service I've ever heard of, from any company, in any industry. If that's how they're going to treat you, and that's what they're going to charge you, and you're even remotely considering still giving them your business, then I'm completely at a loss for words.

The car been fixed and i have a look to see what they've done . I discover that the rubber mouldings on top of the suspensions are crack on both sides. Are they suppose to be like that , will it cause water leak and damage the electronics inside the suspensions. Also when i start the car the green warning light (the car symbol) stay on for about 10 secs before turning off the yellow one flash once only is it normal
