Default Head Rest Blocks View

Have been enjoying my A8L for about a month now -- pretty happy overall, but VERY upset that when I look into my rear view mirror, the right rear headrest blocks virtually the entire view of the lane to my right! In other words, there's a huge blind spot for oncoming traffic. Yes, I can use the side-view mirror, but it's clearly not the same. And after having been a driver for more than 30 years, it's not easy to get used to this. No other luxury sedan I've had has this problem, or anything close. My salesman says there's nothing that can be done.

Any thoughts? (I find it puzzling that a car that claims to be "the most intelligently designed car in the world" has such a MAJOR safety flaw.)

According to my salesman, it cannot be removed. Anyone know differently?

OK I just look at tyhe A we have in the showroom and it has a button on the side to make it go up and down but the seat needs to fold down and I can't find out how it does that but I could see it being possible anything is possible get the car in the shop get the techs to actually remove the rear seat back part and when the seat is out the headrest should be able to slide out this is if the seat doesn't fold down but I could't see anything on how the rear seat folds down let me know how this works out for you its a beutiful vehicle I love them

I'm normal height -- 5' 10", and seat height adjustments make no difference -- that's why I can't understand why this is not a problem for everyone!

I'll try to get the service department to remove the head rest (not a good solution for the passenger who sits there!) and I'll let you know what happens.
