Hey forum, i'm looking to join the Audi family and have had my eye on the A8L series. I'll probably get an 2005 or 2006 and have been looking around doing some research as to common issues and things to look out for while shopping. So if anyone could help me with identifying some common A8 issues for these years, at about what mileage, the costs associated with them, and anything else I should have a shop look at before committing to any purchase. How many miles? The biggest "problem" area is the transmission, if it's high miles, make sure it's been serviced regularly.

 

Its got 50,000 they're asking 18,888. Also do you think thats a good deal or should I try and offer lower like 14, 15

 

Honestly, it's a buyer's market for used high end cars, of any make. I'd offer low regardless

 

The transmissions in the D3 A8 (04-09) are of a differnt design and are much stronger than in the D2 A8 (97-03).
