I just picked up a 2000 A8 4.2. real nice kinda quick too. I was looking for a chip or something for it as well as maybe an S8 muffler and tips. Is there anything else that you guys are doing for an exhaust? These are really nice rides kinda like a sports car bread with a limo. I almost got a Benz but this is nicer i think.

I have some other useful information about the codes for the A8 if anyones interested? like how to make the windows go up and down with the key and what not? its probably easy to get but it took a little for me to find it.

Also does anyone have the stock audi phone? what does the antenna look like? does celwave make it?

Thanks for any responses and Hello.

Welcome to one of the LEAST visited areas of this forum. A8 owners are kinda like hens teeth...

There's a post on here, somewhere or another, about the windows up/down with the keyfob, I think. Do a search (link @ top of home page). If it's not the same as your info post your data in the general tech area, please.

Noy using my AudiPhone. It's there, but will remain unused. I've got enough phones already, don't need another 1.

Hey there,
Good to see another new Audi A8 Driver. I like to think you have joined the intelectually informed few! The A8 is a superb vehicle, very understated and very underrated.

As for the key codes.. I'd be interested in getting them. Go ahead and hit my e-mail link and send them to me!

As for Exhaust, check out this link.. Paul has installed a Sweet aftermarket exhaust on his A8 and he shows you how you can too step by step!

Good luck!

My mom has the Audi phone in her 2000 A8L. As you probably know it is well concealed in the arm rest. The antenna is a little big, maybe 5 or 6 inches, but its slim. I would prefer the "shark fin" type of antenna, but it's not bad.

you add 64 to the value of the code in your central lock control. you need a OBD II tool that can set a new code value. Most shops have them, or the dealer can do it.

I couldn't find anything more than this thread when doing a search on Audi - window - codes.

I wish that I knew what you guys were talking about I can only guess that your have some code that will enable you to close all the windows when leaving the vehicle etc?

If memory serves it's something you can enable only with a Ross-Tech VAG-COM tool: http://www.ross-tech.com/

yes use a Vag-com or similar device that the dealers/service techs have. These codes allow you to roll the windows up/down with the unlock buttons on the key fob, as well as other things like transmission recoding and comfort features.
