Painful Christmas
The grill for the 2005 A8 W12 is basically the same front end that is on the cars now.
The 2005 still had a fully painted bumper skin and split grills. There is a thread around here somewhere with a guy who did his. It is called S8 Grill. Thread Link: https://www.audiforums.com/m_631961/tm.htm
Here are a couple of pics...

Also, the insurance company for the lady that hit my car has agreed to pay what ever it costs to make it right. As noted previously, it is over $28K. I received a letter this week that states that they have agreed to pay the full boat and the check for the last 10K is on the way.
Wow... Treated them fairly and they have come through so far. Lets see how the shop does and if I can close this whole thing out as a positive experience.

OK...
Another update.
The repair center is now telling me that it will be seven more weeks before I get my car back.
I've forotten even what I bought.
I will have owned the car for over 3 months and will have driven it a whopping 100 miles.
Oye...

You have my sympathy. I purchased a 99 A8 in Feb. of 07 and proceeded to put app. 23,000 miles on it up until mid Dec. when I was backed into at a Home Depot parking lot. $2800.00 dollars at that time and app. 6 to 8 days in the shop. This is where it gets interesting and disgusting. I dropped the car off at the body shop on Wed. and on Mon. I get a phone call saying there is a problem and could I please stop down and take a look. They left it outside next to a building and a huge chunk of ice came off the roof over the weekend and totalled out the whole front end. It ended up being almost $9,000.00 and 4 weeks. I had a rolling beer can aka PT Cruiser as a comparable rental. Yeah, right. I don't know if it will ever be right, but I also know that if you don't own one, you have no idea what it is to be without one. With all the maintenance and the costs, it is still worth every single penny. An amazing vehicle. A beautiful mistress.
OK... First pictures of car with rear end removed.
These were sent to me by the shop. Unsure if they are interesting or not, but figured I would at least share...
They reported back that they are 'on schedule' lol.
