taillights
it's true. smoked taillights defeats the "reflective" capabilities of your taillights. You know, that part that shines red, even when they'[re off, when light hits them? That's why it's illegao to tint/smoke your taillights. If you could figure out how to do it and leave the reflective part reflective, you might (still, unlikely) win a court battle, but is it worth the expense, if you get taken down.
So, if you do go the smokeed route, be smart, keep a set of clean tails, to swap in when you hafta go to court after being ticketed for having smoked tails.
Or, get elected to your states legislature and do some legal manuvering to change your states laws... But, that might take a while to make happen

for a double-ought A8, you're gonna end up MAKING your own, before you'll find some on the market. Not enough of the cars on the road to support an after-market industry, in general. Let alone led-tails. I'm considering making myself a set, this summer.
If I do, and it works, I'll post up a DIY, or, charge an arm, leg, and half a hand to make a set... we'll see... mean time, keep happy thoughts

Smoked tail lamps are illegal in almost every state, but if you wanted to go that route just tint them.
