Default Towing With My 04 A8L

I know, I know the first thing you are thinking is, are you crazy? I need to tow a pair of Seadoo's 400 miles and back during the summer and do not want to purchase a new vehicle to do it. I found a European company that makes a trailer hitch for my car. Can this be done without hurting the transmission? Has anyone else ever towed with their Audi? The total weight will be less than 2,500 lbs towed. Any help would be greatly appreiciated.

Yeah you can two that no problem, the most common audi used for towing is the allroad, but you could tow that load with an A8 no problem.......it will just look kinda funny.

Does anyone make a reasonably priced hitch for the A8? I'd like to get one, just to use my hitch-mountable bike rack.

Default Another Trailer Hitch Question

Thank you for the response. I did not think it would be a problem. Now for the next question, does anyone know or have any experience with this company, http://eurohitch.es/index.php?main_p...products_id=11 ? I found them on the internet. They were the only company I found that offers a hitch for my car. Again, any help would be much appreciated.

Yikes, that's pretty steep for a hitch. Does Audi make a hitch for the D3?

Audi makes a hitch. I've seen A8s towing big travel trailers, horse boxes, you name it, in Germany. I even saw a guy pulling a RS4 race car on a trailer behind his A8.

Never heard of eurohitch, but if its good quality then its a decent price. Audi does make hitches for just about all models they make, however they will set you back a few bucks...........(understatement)

I checked with my dealer and they said that they can not add a trailer hitch to my car. Does anyone know of a dealer that can put a trailer hitch on?

Why can't they put a hitch on your car? What kinda stupid dealer is that.....where are they located so i can stupid slap them. Any dealer should be able to install a hitch. I would call AOA (audi of america) unless you live out of the US, and tell them that the dealer is not running up to par and explain your situation. They will most likely send out a field rep to install it on your A8 as well as train the dummies.

Thank you to everyone who has provided any help/insight on this topic.

Auditech79, I had the same experience at my local Audi dealer. The Parts Department told me they cannot install a hitch on my 2000 A8. I've looked high and low on the Audi of America website and can't find any contact info... any suggestions?

Has anyone had any experience with this hitch?

I'm not looking to tow anything, I just want to mount my bike hitch rack.

Please let me know if anyone has any other ideas. Thanks!
