Weird rev fault and BOSE system not doing ewt!

Hi guys,

Ive got 2 faults here on my 2005 D3 3.0 TDI.

Firstly, in auto mode if youre driving at steady speed the revs are up and down within 500 rpm range or so. Its weird. Feels like its hunting. Same on cruise, you feel it pull and slow, pull and slow wtc... Flick it to manual and its fine?? Also seems to stick too long when youre coming to a stop and releases the gear too abruptly. Could this be a ZF gear box fluid change needed? Ive code read and it comes up with 4 faults but all seem to relate to battery levels??

Also I have the MMI Bose system that doesnt accept my iphone? I also have the motorola phone, so Im told that I cant add my iphone. When I do a bluetooth search it finds: mototrola bluetooth and also the Bose bluetooth?? Is there any way I can connect? Also my CD changer has no power and Im unable to play any discs?? I have tried connecting my phone via the usb port in the glovebox next to the changer and also a hard drive media player all to no avail?

Im starting to go crazy as I cant figure these faults out?? Any and all help is HUGELY appreciated!

~Dave

First thing you'll need to do it a full scan with VCDS Ross-Tech: Home
This will let you know what the faults are and can be diagnosed from there.

iPhone won't work with USB connection to AMI, there is a cable specifically for it.
When you search Bluetooth you should see AUDI XXXX and connect to that with pin 1234.

If your CD changer is not working it could be causing problems with AMI and other things on the fibre (MOST) ring.

Do a search on tach bounce here and on the other forums - could be a vacuum leak.

Have a scan of:
http://www.sonnax.com/system/pdfs/37...AutoChoice.pdf
and see if your symptoms on p.16 match...
TCC shudder or RPM swing:
 Incorrect type of fluid. Must flush complete and possibly multiple times.
 Lockup clutch de-bonding issue.
 O-ring on the converter piston id. leaking.
 Incorrect converter damper not matched to the engine.
 Incorrect TCC friction material.
 Check for possible reflash.
Sounds like TCC problems when in regulator mode. Try new CORRECT fluid.

Great thanks. I'll start with the fluid change I think and go from there. Just weird that its fine in manual but swinging in auto mode.

Do you know what the ipod lead is I need?

Cheers

In Tiptronic mode, the TCC (Torque convertor clutch) is not in 'regulator mode' where it is continually slipping.
