The W12 is packing almost 500 more lbs, plus the suspension isn't as stiff as the S8's.
Traction isn't an issue on any audi other than the FWD A3.
The best way to sum it up would be to drive both of them, i think you'll agree the A8 W12 is the ultimate in luxury and it drives fast, but it doesn't put you back in your seat. The S8 is like a sports car in a long wheel base luxury sedan, if its performance you want, then the S8 wins that race.

P.S. the W12 A8 comes with a frigerator in the middle of the back seat with TV screens in the back headrests as standard equipment. We usually throw in a couple of wine glasses and a bottle of wine at my old dealer.
Ok. The S8 is the way to go.

Thanks for the information.

So you're saying all those rear wheel burnouts I saw on "Transporter 3" don't really occur? LOL

Also, my pop up screen is not a touch screen. What's up with that? lol

I think that also depends if you're in "D" mode or "S" mode. I can be at 3000 RPM at 80 in "S" (sport) mode too. It just makes shifts more aggressive and holds them longer for higher RPM's.

LOTS MORE! I am 6'2" and when I'm driving, I can put 7' tall people in the backseat comfortably. It's pretty awesome.

S8 uses a V10 engine providing 450 hp while the W12 uses a W12 engine that gives the same hp but with a higher toruque... Also the W12 is actually called A8L W12 which indicates it is the long wheelbase version...

The W12 is top of the line, longer than S8, more luxurious, and around $27,000 higher in price...
