what too look for
Hey folk, thx for a great site. i now followed the site for some time now, and love the way peop help each other out with probs.
now ill try seeking some help.
let me start saying, that i never have owned a audi before and there for searching some wisdom.
i have found a audi a8 L 4.2 tdi 2004 100.000km (pre-facelift).
so my question is, what do i need to look for, is there a known issue/(common)problems with this model. eg. transmission, turbo or motor etc.

I can't comment on the engine because they didn't that model in the states, but as far as the body goes its the same.
The transmission generally doesn't have any problems however expensive to maintain, i think you'll find everything about this car is expensive to maintain actually. Read the maintenaince and common problems thread which covers most of the stuff you will run into.
