I have an 1998 A8. When the windshield wipers are on they slam down extremely hard for about 30 seconds to 2 minutes and then they operate correctly for about 30 seconds then revert back to slamming down to the parking position. This happens the entire time that they are activated. Any ideas on what is going on and how to correct this issue.

Usually this means there's slop in the linkage's nylon bushings... replacements seem to be in order.
