Default Winter Wheels and Tires for A8

This may be an old topic, but its good to get new opinions. Anyone have Winter tires on their A8? If so, what do you and don't you like about them. I am contemplating getting some for mine.
Thanks in advance

I have a 2002 A8L. I just mounted Michelle 4 Winter Ice tires on a alloy wheels. They tires are noisy, but man was I happy when I avoided a spinning, out off control SUV that was attempting to fight gravity down an icy road in nothern Vt. on sunday. I just drove 500 + miles in an ice and snow conditions with ease. If you will use your A8 in winter conditions you will need good snow to steer well and help with stopping. In the past I have used Nokain Hakkapeliittas, Blizzaks (suck after 8k), and Dunlop Graspics (excellent - I have them on my V8Q). Tire Rack is a good source of snows. Happy Plowing!

'99 D2 4.2Q SWB, Silver. It doesn't generally snow all that often here in Metro DC during the winters, so I roll A/S's in the Winter. Falken Zeix 512's. I've been rolling Falkens since '98. Swear by them! Dollar for dollar you're not gonna find a betR A/S UHP tire. I've heard people complain about them being squirrely, but, in my experiences, you hafta run them 3-5 pounds above OEM for best performance. Actual pressues depends on your own comfort level. 1-2db above other manufacturers in road noise, too, but I find the wet weather grip, water evac, snow-handling, et-al, and the V/W/Z speed rating more than compensates.
