So my Check Engine light came on a few days ago and then it happened. "Low Oil Pressure....Stop Car " warning came on when I stopped at a light. I put it in neutral and the warning went away. I drove it home a few miles away because the temp had not gone up and it was not running any different than normal. Any way, after looking at a few forums and reading the horror stories of oil pump failure and ruined engines, I had the vehicle towed to the dealer to be safe. I got mine fixed and it was actually not a major issue.
There was actually a recall on mine under the Open Campaign 17F9 (I'm in the US). Here are the part numbers listed on my invoice.

I believe this was just the PCV replacement. Dealer installed, the Check Engine Light is out and no more warnings.

Hey, thanks for writing this up (nearly 5 years ago). My 2013 Q5 has the same symptoms and I can't pin down the issue. I'll try this, the repair kit is only $17!
