Does anyone know when Audi Adaptive Cruise Control will be available on the 2018 Q5/SQ5s? The early release, shipping now, does not have adaptive cruise control.

Leasing is not the issue...the order system does not allow ordering Audi adaptive cruise control on 2018 Q5/SQ5s. I got an email today stating the SQ5s are available, but dealer system says delayed, and Audi adaptive cruise control is available but order system cannot allow the order. Does anyone know why Audi is so screwed up???

 

One dealer heard July availability for the DAP with that feature.

 

Ok, Now I understand.

 

Here are a few other items not yet available on the 2018 Q5: Lane Keep Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, and "climatized" ("thermal") cup holders. Adaptive cruise control, LKA, and TJA are all available as options on the 2018 A5 Sportback (according to the Audi web site), and thermal cup holders were standard equipment on first generation Q5 Prestige models. By the way, if you haven't seen it, the A5 Sportback is a beautiful car that some may feel is a suitable alternative to the Q5.

Interestingly, the 2018 Q5 Owner's Manual describes the operation of all the above features with the disclaimer "If available on your vehicle." So, maybe they'll all be available before long. (The two dealers I've asked about this know nothing.) It's early in the production run. In Southern California, there are no Prestige models yet to be found and half the allegedly available exterior colors cannot be seen on an actual Q5. It seems that the Mexican plant is still getting its act together.

 

The DAP became available on 5/6/2018. It includes Traffic sign recognition, Audi adaptive cruise control, Audi active lane assist & High beam assistant. It costs $1800 in the USA. Now the question is when will it ship. I have a 2018 SQ5 on order (w/DAP, leather, S sport pkg & dynamic steering) but no build date yet. :-(
