Default Humming sound with roof racks on?

It's a bummer that the sound generated from the roof racks that came with my 2012 Q5 make a loud wind sound when driving past 40 MPH. They look so sporty, I just wish they were more aerodynamic. Anyone else had this problem? or just me?

I don't have a chance to put those cross bars on yet but from my past experience they do produce humming sound or wind noise. My previous Land Rover does that and my wife's CR-V does that too. Well, I only use those cross bars during winter for skiing so just couple of months noise is fine with me. Turn up the music is the quickest solution to fix it.

There is a very easy fix, about $7 and you can buy replacement black strip on top, made by Thule. I just got my q5 2 weeks ago andit has racks with same problem. $7 later and it's fixed by about 99%. Remember to order 2. I'll see if I can find the link and I'll post it for you.

Here you go

Thule - ARB60 AeroBlade Load Bar Pair

Thule Cover Strip Patterned 1500mm (8525402005) - $7 each (you'll need to order 2)
