Default Replacing Q5 MMI with aftermarket product

According to the Dealer and a third party shop, the f5 Infotainment module on my 2010 Q5 has failed. No screen (except for occasional back-up camera); no audio. I can't say I have complete confidence in the diagnosis, but the quoted price to replace the control panel and the module is nearly $4,000 in parts alone. Is there some after market product that might work to replace at least some functions? I see that Alpine offers a nav/audio replacement but they state that the product is not compatible with MMI systems. It's been a frustrating search for confident repair and it has scorched my relationship with my dealer after two Audis and 10 years.

I wouldn't really recommend an aftermarket product for this.... maybe a used one? second opinion on the diag?
