2009 Q7 3.6L ECP and Engine Light on, NO START
Hey Guys, I am new to this forum but I am trying to research the issue of my wife's Q7. It just did not want to start this morning, lights come on with the ignition when key is inserted. We haven't had any real issues with it, as its been a great SUV for the family and long trips around the PNW. It did not show a low battery indicator light, just decided not to turn over. I have no clue what the ECP and Engine light mean together, but my guess is a faulty sensor of some sort. I have an older scanner that cannot tell me the codes on this particular vehicle, so I am also looking into something that I could diagnose with bi-directional, ECU coding, and Wifi/Bluetooth so any recommendations there are welcome.
Any idea how to diagnose this problem? I was hoping I could figure it out at home without towing it to the mechanic. Does anyone know if we are able to borrow a code scanner to find the problem or any other methods to diagnose it?
I appreciate the help and I am very glad there are forms like this. I am also a part of a BMW one as well as they always like to surprise me with issues.
