I have a new 2017 Q7 and I ran over something that pierced the oil pan. My local Audi shop is saying that replacing the oil pan automatically requires replacing the oil pump. That sounds awful strange to me as the oil pump was not touched. Does anyone know modern Audi requirements in this area?

Also, do they make these oil pans out of aluminum nowadays? The pan looked like it was ripped open like a cheap beer can.
