i'm driving a 2008 q7 3.0 tdi lately. the esp and abs warning lights are on , air suspension locks itself into dynamic mode after a certain speed.

the weird thing that abs is actually working when wheels start to slip.

A technician used an adapter called sth. like an "odis" interface to reset the abs&esp unit to factory settings/to adjust but no success. he says the unit is faulty and it does not let the adjustment procedure go through.

how come the abs function is working then? if the unit were fried due to a water leak wouldn't it loose all functions whatsoever?
then it comes to my mind that may be esp is working as well as abs but somehow the system is giving a waring light and also effecting air suspension feature.

is there a safe way to assess esp functionality just like activating abs during a brake in a straight route?
