I'm just about to get my brand new Q7. At the same time I'm also building my new house, and need to do some planning for the garage. What is the height if the read trunk door is in fully opened position?

 

FWIW, I am not not sure what the max/stock height is, but it is adjustable electronically. Our 2012 is set to stop just short of our garage door.

On a related note, we designed our our home in 2008. We made sure to add an additional 6" to each side between car stalls (two door door-ding proof) and an additional 3 feet (1m) to the back to allow for work benches. Our only regrets are not adding more than 1m for more work space and not doing "truck height" entry doors.
