I am looking at purchasing a used Q7. There is a 2015 TDI and a 2017 3.0 V6 available. I like the 2017 model for the new design, tech, etc., however I will want to tow a boat in the near future. Will probably be around 5500 lbs. Was curious to know if anyone switched from a TDI to the newer model and and noticed a difference in performance in regards to towing. I know the new models actually can tow 1,000 lbs more, but from what I understand, diesels perform better. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
