Considering Q7 upgrade...2013 to 2017...sanity check on discount and add-ons?
Hi, 3-year Audi owner but brand new to Audi forums...
Looking at upgrading my 2013 Q7 (S line) to a 2017 Q7 (Prestige). Test drove the 2017 today and liked it a lot.
Today I got a quote at the Minneapolis Audi dealer on a super-well equipped 2017 Q7 with a trade of my 2013 Q7. I made a $500 deposit towards the 2017.
The value offered for my trade is almost exactly what Edmunds website said to expect based on features and mileage.
The "deal" offered on the 2017 was a $500 discount and a $500 Audi owner loyalty incentive. Are much better deals on this car unlikely because of the newness? Should I expect more than a $1,000 total discount?
A possible mistake I made when buying my 2013 Q7 (which I don't want to make again) was paying full price for Audi Care (which for the 2017 Q7 would be $1,169) and the Premium Protection Plan (Xpel Clear Film, Simoniz, Tire & Wheel Protection and Dent & Ding Repair Plan, which for the 2017 Q7 would be $2,927). Are those packages worthwhile and/or negotiable? How negotiable?
Also, it has the "upgraded" 21" wheels and summer tires. Those won't do much good in Minnesota these days. What should I have to pay for winter wheels and tires?
Thanks very much in advance for any advice!
