We are contemplating the purchase of a used Q7 3.6L to replace a MB e320 Wagon. We are also considering a MB ML350.

Regarding the Q7:

What are known problem areas ?

How reliable is the Q7 compared to the MB ML350 ? How reliable in general ?

Any data regarding owners logging 150k+ miles ?

What issues beyond regular maintenance should I be aware of ?

I know your searching through this forum and possible other places for information - that is a good starting point. I just purchased a used Q7 with the 4.2 engine yesterday. From what I can see, there are some electrical issues, some fluid leaks, oil separator issues, etc. The panoramic sunroof drain tubes can clog and cause major problems with the MMI amp due to water exposure. Before deciding to buy my Q7, I had a pre-purchase inspection performed by a Master Audi Tech. Worth every penny!

As for reliability compared to the Merc ML350...I don't know.
