I am hoping someone can provide some assistance. I am considering a used 2007 Q7 4.2 Premium with 7,600 miles. I am purchasing from a non-Audi dealer so I am trying to find information on all the installed options based on the VIN. Does anyone know if there is a way to do this? I've run Carfax and the report says it was a Corporate Fleet Lease out of Michigan (I am in California). Is there any way to dig this info up without involving contacting the dealer??? If I have to contact the dealer, is it better to speak with the Sales or Service Department? Also, does anyone know exactly what a Corporate Fleet Lease really means? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Just trying to do my due diligence before forking over $52k!

the examples below came from my '03 b6 1.8t

--4----L------Series - it means four door or two door or convertible
--5----C------Engine Power-A-lowest, H-highest power available
--6----6------Restraint sys-Airbag dr,pa, side curtain airbags (6=best for insurance, 1= worst)

sorry, didn't realize this was a very old thread that someone revived, long story short, a VIN on a Q7 tells you engine (3.6, 4.2, 3.0T, or TDI, for the US), Premium or not (depends on year), and S-Line or not. It doesn't tell you other options.
