Default $6K

Sooo lets see..i was origionally going to try and sell my tt and get a gto or 2000ish m5.. but ive ben thinking maybe just taking the 6k i have that would go towards a different car and get some goodies forr the tt and keep her instead. First off, coilovers, lookin at either konis or eibach. then rear sway and maybe brembo stage 1. so that runs me about 3k. So i have the apr 91 oct program, wheels, and tires and all exterior mods that i would like on my tt, so theres no need to buy anything in that department. I guess the next step is turbo. I dont need anything extreme, im just looking for the most power with the quickest spool for a decent price. Which turbos should i be looking at?? Any help is apprieciated!

Dan

Judging from the "Picking the right turbo" thread, it looks like the best turbos for quick spooling tih nothing crazy is a T3 60 Trim, or a Garrett GT28rs. Turbonetics t3s60, seems to be a good choice as well.

I'm looking at coil-overs too BTW. I really want the Bilstein PSS9, but I don't know if I want to spend that kind of money. On another thread, Cincy recommended the V-maxx coilovers through stratmosphere.com They seem pretty legit, but I don't know if they will lower the rear of the car enough. I'm looking for at least 1.5" all around, preferably 2" all around. We'll see.

youll need a clutch to handle a new turbo... just throwing that out there... unless you get a k04 but thats just nonsense...

You'll probly wear out your stock one eventually if you max a K04 too. Stock handles 250whp before it starts to slip...and even at that it'll wear out quick.

it took a lot less than 250hp to slip my stock clutch

Burning a whole in your pocket? I'd say save that money a little bit longer and get a stage 2 clutch & flywheel, statisis/koni coilovers, breaks, then do your exterior/interior trim last (what do you plan on?).

Im thinking maybe i could just wait on a turbo possibly. I have everything I want exterior wise besides maybe the smoked side blinker covers, and i need new wipers. The TT has been at the dealer getting a few things done for the past 4 or 5 days or so. Was SUPPOSED to get my whole front bumper rebuffed and painted due to the previous owner scratching the heck out of the bottom of it, but only half was done. Got a few squeeks here and there fixed, wheels balenced and aligned, new headlight, yes singular...looks a little wierd with my old dirty one. Apparently there was a problem with the moter that allows you to adjust the headlight? maybe im mistaken but i think thats what it is.

I'd go with:
[ul][*]KW Variant 2 coilovers (adjustable height AND dampening) ($1,200)[*]Spec Stage 2+ clutchw/ lw steel fw ($1050)[*]Brembo stage 2 BBK($1999)[*]Polyurethane Bushings all the way around + DEFCON 1 CA kit ($400)[*]front and rear 19mm Sway ($400)[*]Snowperformance stage 2 MAF Dual Nozzle Water/Methanol InjectionKit ($544)[*]APR Z-Flow FMIC ($1,099)[/ul]
The end.
That would make your TT a completely different car.

M5... eat your heart out!

What does labor /alignment and corner balancing cost for coilovers? I think new rear arms are recommended when lowering the TT. This is what I've read at least. Don't forget to calculate those costs too. It's depressing.
