Stopped working completely, or stopped doing the 1/4" drop when you open the door?

To fix the door open thing, hold the window switch until the window is all the way down, then hold it until it's all the way up, release the button, then hold it to the 'up' position for 2 seconds.

Theres a factory amp locatedin the panel behind the first aid kit (opposite side as the CD changer). Maybe your speakers were disconnected there? I'm no audio guy, but that'd be my guess.

the window didn't work at all when i got the car, then it started working out of no where about a month later. worked perfect for a week or two. then one time when i unlocked the car and opened the door, the window went half way down instead of 1/4" when i got in the car and shut the door, it went down a little more (about 3/4 of the way down) the window would not go up with the switch, only down. then it was stuck down and i had to take the door panel off and crank the regulator up by hand. so that's why i'm pretty sure it has something to do with whatever controls and monitors window position and movement.

the amp is in the compartment next to the rear seat? is it down in there or pretty visible?

Yeah, try that procedure I posted, it should make it re-learn its range of motion.

Probably not. Thought you got it moving, but it only goes halfway up.

BTW, amp... probably have to pull that panel off to get to it. Or go the hard way like I did, and kiss a guardrail, and have to have your quarter replaced. Got a look at the amp from the backside. :\

no, the window went the rest of the way down and wouldn't come back up. i think the module (or whatever it is) is confused about the window position. i just don't know what controlls that and if i can be fixed or needs to be replaced.

are there any tricks to getting that panel off?

today i took a better look and followed the wires that used to run to the sub box and they run towards the driver's side under the cd changer. then a couple of them splice into a couple of wires on the factory cluster and into a regulator box. and what looks like the main wiring and maybe a power line go up under the carpet/paneling and toward the front of the car. maybe to the fuses? is there a likely place they would go before i start pulling up carpet and everything?

also, still lost on the window issue

Regarding your power window situation, check power to that leg of your switch. If it's not that it's most likely the motor.

I had similar issues when I originally bought my car...here is my take.

The window:
Mine also randomly stopped working for a couple months (after a few months of not working, it decided to work for a week, then stopped again permanently). When I hit the switch, I could hear a "click" from inside the door panel which told me the motor was at least getting the signal. I ebay'ed a used window motor for like 60 bucks, replaced it (20 minute job) and haven't had a problem since. Can you hear a "click" when you hit the window switch?

Taking the door panel off is a 5 minute job (taking the rear panels off to get to your speakers is a little more time consuming, but just as simple). I'm sure there is a DIY on this forum somewhere, bt if not, I can give you a quick walk through.
