225 TT ?'s
i just got a 2002 225 TT roadster and my friends keep telling me that a front mount intercooler setup is bad for this motor, beacuse it will not get the proper air the radiator making overheating an issue.
is this true? are FMIC bad for the 225 setup
also
i have the chance to get a free HKS SSQV kit for my TT should i do it or just get a DV??
how bad are the HKS bov's for this audi motor??
thanks alot...

First off good choice on the ride, mine is an 01 Roadster.
Second Im not to sure on the overheating issue for the intercooler. I am having all of my work done at a local shop here in Phoenix and the recently put one on a TT 225 Coupe, and I have talked to them and the owner offen and there has been nothing mentioned of overheating. And that is here in Phoenix, it was 116 degrees here last week. But I wont go so far as to say that it wouldnt happen. Im going to do it though. [sm=badbadbad.gif]
As for the BOV look around the site abit and read up on this first, it has been discussed in detail and length. I think that you will find the going with BOV instead of the diverter is a bad idea. From what I understand the engine/air system is designed for the diverter and by going to a BOV you loose power, because the engine is looking for that recycled air and its not there. Im going with an upgraded deverter valve in mine on Monday. On a side note, I guess the BOV are excessively noisy on our cars. But hey to each his own. Definiately look around the forum though before making your decision. Oh Yeah, welcome to the forum.

the Diverter Valve over the Blow off Valve.... I tried both a forge diverter valve and currently using a forge blow off valve....
the BOV sounds really nice.... but you do feel that when you shift gears there is a lag..... as if you need to spool the turbo again to retain the momentum..... which in turn i get lower fuel milage..... but I love the sound
but most probably I will switch it back to the forge diverter valve once I get sick of pffftshhhhhhhhhhhhhhing hahhhahahaha
Another thing is i went to http://www.pgperformance.com/ to get my car upgraded and they have been doing audis and vw for over 15 years. so they know what their doing when it comes to upgrading our cars.... the forge blow off valve if you do want it... according to them it a hit and miss.... meaning some audi's will have the engine light on after installing it or sometimes it wont.. like my 2000 coupe no engine light went on.. but it might have one on a different car...

Forge is comes highly recommended from all the guys in the vw/audi community. On the contrary I went with the turboxs on my 225 because my background is with turbo honda/acuras. Turboxs makes reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllly high quallity ish. They are one of the most reputable companies for jdm stuff and when I found out they made some parts for my audi, I jumped on it. Just my opinion and my experience
Ive asked this a couple times, but to no avail, so since theres more people on this topic....
What about a diverter valve/bov...Like they both in one. It returns some air like a diverter would, but also releases some like a BOV.
CAuse then there is still some air to come back and shouldnt be too rich, but also have some noise too. On the lltek site they got one.
I notice many of you hate that noise, but god I love it. Its just one of those things, some people like black cars, some dont.
