Well, I machined an Aluminium ring much like the modshack ring, but with eight holes in the 'TT pattern'
instead of the curved slots it looks much better than the modshack ring.
If you have a C&C at your disposal, i can send the CAD drawing...

RE: 52 mm boost gauge in vent
I gutted the vent, by carefully pulling each blade out. Then with the holder that came with the gauge I shoved it in the vent.
I had to put the gauge diagonally into the vent.
Then cut a notch into the air duct for the vac line, otherwise it would get crimped.
Then I turned the actual vent on a bit of an angle, and just pushed the whole vent into the dash.
I just made sure the one protruding billet was still able to be at 12 O'clock. Because little things like that drive me nuts!

You can get a roll of 18 gauge wire from Autozone for a few dollars.
Then you just need to drop the lower dash to get to the ground, and solder away.
Oh and radio code if your car requires one, for when you disconnect the battery.
Me thinks it's always a good idea to disconnect the battery when playing around with electrical stuff.
