Default 9.5" rims in rear.

Curious. Can someone pls tell me if it is possible to put 18x9.5 (+35et) on the rear. Will it rub on suspension or anything? I know Mininger says he has 19x8.5 (f) with 19x9.5 (r) all with 35 offset and doesn't rub. So it makes me curious what his tire size is. Is he stretching his tires over the rim (using smaller with tires).

Asking cause I found a dealer in S. Cal that is selling Sportmax 502 in staggered set up 18x8.5 & 18x9.5 (35 et) for $520. Price is rims only. This dealer also gives good pricing on tires btw.

Please note this calculator is for quattro TTs only.
Wheel offset calculator

If you don't want spacers just enter a "0" in that space. The calculator will then tell you how far inside or outside the fender your wheels will be.

I used that Calculator, and it says they fit fine. But my concern is if they will fit. Will it rub on suspension or the inner wheel well? What size tires should I have on them. Cause I was told I may need to buy smaller width tires to put on 9.5" (i.e. go with a 255 instead of a 275 which is normal for 9.5"). So was asking if anyone had 9.5" in the rears and what tire size do they use.

you should be fine...there are plenty of guys running 10" rears w/265 tires. this weekend i'll have on almost the same set up, except for 19s and the rear offset is 40 and running a 13&20mm spacers F/R.[sm=smiley20.gif]

TYVM for response.. But if someone has 10" in rears. The tire size should be no less than 275. 265 in the rear is strecthing the tire by alot. Standard size for 10" rims is 285/295.

hmm sorry to bring this topic back up but does 9.5 and 8.5 affect handling for example if i or someone where to have 9.5 in the rear and 8.5 up front....

Also if the owner of 8.5 rear would please post a pic of an 8.5 rear

and the owner of the 9.5 rear please post a pic of the rear of your car too I would love too see how it looks thanks so much ahead

I don't really know if you're asking this, but yeah a wider tire is bound to "affect handling" in the form of road holding because the more rubber on the ground, the more grip you will get. but you could be asking something else

you asked how 9.5 inch width tires looked on a car... well I don't have a picture but my brother has 18x9.5 inch Enkeis on his RX8 and they are ridiculously wide in the back, like excessively wide. But in a good way. haha it looks really, really aggressive when you pull up behind him and see how wide his tires are

And of course would need adapters, would be it be better to do 22 front and rear or 22 front 25 rear?
