Help!! my 2001 audi tt 1.8t fwd has been making a terrible noise right after it turns over, and the check engine light has been on 4 about a week.....this morning i started it up, the oil temp warning came on the computer screen, drove about 6 miles shut it off checked the oil, tried 2 start it...it will turn over but it won't keep running. Checked fuses all good, could it be the fuel pump? If thats a possiblity then, how much would i be looking at to fix it, or how hard would it be to fix myself or with someone else.

 

Take your car to a parts store and have them read the codes.

 

And in the future, when your check engine light comes on, do something about it. Waiting a week doesn't count as doing something, driving on a oil warning doesn't count either.

 

This line cracks me up... especially when the OP says the car will turn over but not run.

I got a lot of "take it to Autozone" on the AW A4 forum a few weeks ago when I was giving symptoms of misfiring, shaking, and NOT drivable.

I just kept responding - "yeah let me pay for a tow to autozone and back to get the codes read."
