Default About DVs...

So I got myself a Froge DV and installed it. For some reason my car isn't as aggressive as before. (less pull it seems like, slower acceleration, etc) I read there are different springs you can change inside the DV. I'd write the boost info but I'm still waiting on the vent ring to come in so I can install my Boost Gauge. I guess what I'm asking is how do I know which spring to change to? The forge box didn't really come with a manual. My new DV is just sitting as a paper weight right now since I like how the older plastic DV feels.

Another one, had a chip in my car's glove box when I bought it with the markings "AMD" on it. I had a feeling it was a clue that my car had already been chipped. I took it to the shop and showed one of the guys and said, yes that was the old factory chip. How do I find out what chip I have now? Is it hard to get to the guts of the computer?

thanks for any info.

the green is for stock and yellow if chipped. If you use to soft of a spring your probably leaking some boost and thus having your problems.

Please tell me its not one of THESE chips

Isn't that kinda bad? I thought the 710Ns that come with your car were rated for 18psi. I just put a couple of those in my GIAC'd S4 and they're holding boost great.

Green - 5-15 PSIYellow - 15-23 PSIBlue - 23-30 PSIRed - 30 + PSI

Those are rough figures.

Also try the "pen-test" in this pdf: http://www.forgemotorsport.com/media/valve(1).pdf

Which port on the valve did you connect to the turbo inlet pipe?

only change your DV spring if your boosting higher than stock (chip/diode mod/etc.)

lol @ AMD making the stock chips for the TT. overclock time!

I'll take a pic of a physically chipped ECU this weekend.

Still have the ECU from my 180, from memory, thats not quite what the chip looks like, that looks too big, but it HAS been a while since I had that ECU apart, I may be wrong.

I also have a stack of old EPROMs that were harvested from some old *** computers, you may have been blessed by a similar POS chip.
