the single biggest power mod you can do to this car (besides a turbo upgrade) is chipping it, it cots around $500 dollars, the chips used the most are GIAC, APR, and Revo. you also can look at several different exhausts including Neuspeed,Borla, APR, Miltek, and the Eurosport Tuning Exhaust. Lots of guys on this forum will tell you to take a look at Modshack.info. They make a great TTDA intake and VTDA intake, if you dont like those Neuspeed makes a P-flo intake. i could go on for days but those were just some things to get your mind going. Here are some great website with aftermarket parts for the TT
TT stuff
ECS Tuning
Greed Speed
AWE tuning

suspension and brakes should always be adressed before engine.

Im with rayveedub. As far as seat of the pants thrills you really cant beat a tuned suspension. Lower it and upgrade the anti-roll bars you'll be amazed at how much different the car feels. Some slotted rotors and performance pads, or even a big brake upgrade (dont forget the back brakes if you resize the front) if you've got the money.

Then when you start making power you can actually put it on the ground more efficiently. Not to mention safety.

Here's a list of Mods I've done (or am in the process of doing) and thus far, I've been pretty pleased:
--Ram-air intake with a K&N filter ($100): Good/cheap mod that you won't regret. Your car will totally wake-up after it gets some quick air running through it!
--Forge DV ($120): Nice upgrade to the stock diverter valve. Cleaner idle and quicker turbo wind-up, not to mention a killer blow-off noise.
--Neuspeed Pully Upgrade ($200): Provides 5-10HP at the wheels and that is a noticable gain for pretty cheap.
--Borla Exhaust ($650): Not as cheap as the others, but the gains and asthetics are substantial.
--Chip the engine (amount pending): Depending on what engine you have and who you go with you can gain up to 55HP for around the area of $500-$700. Expensive, but definately worth it if you're looking for some pull!

**If you do these Mods, it's imperative you upgrade your suspension and brakes!!! Like those other guys said, safety is crucial! Don't build the engine and ignore the other 50% of the car like all those rice-boys out there... do it right!
