Default Which Airfilter is better?

Ok... so we've all established that the design of the TTDA and VTDA leave a much to be desired. So I'm determined now to upgrade my existing "Half-VTDA" to just a regular High-Flow Filter.

By upgrade... I basically mean color match it to my engine trim by getting a green filter and if there's a higher airflow filter... then do that too.

I have two options:

[ul][*]The HKS Mushroom style Mega Flow Reloaded Air Filter - https://www.directtuning.com/store/p...98-00-18t.aspx[*]Green Performance Cone Filter (Green Performance is supposedly very high flow) - http://www.greenfilterusa.com/colormatch.asp[/ul]
So I can get either of them in Green to match everything... but will either of these filters flow better than the other?

K&N isn't a bad filter. But K&N doesn't make them in green as far as I know, and that is what I'm looking for.

Drop in wouldn't work for me though because I'm using a cone filter.

and aren't HKS mushroom filters non-oiled? which means no MAF mess? downside is that once it's too dirty, you have to buy replacement HKS green inserts. Didn't know HKS made one for the audi..pretty cool. I might buy this one instead of the neuspeed.

you're livin' in korea? cooooool.

I doubt the difference between the two are big enough to choose one over the other. I'd get the one that best matches your green.

the greddy and HKS shroom filters are both non-oiled. downside is, once it gets too dirty, the element replacement is like... $15 a piece

ahh well.

Well they dont makes one specifically for the TT. they make one for the 1.8t audi A4. Same Intake inlet diameter; 3". Will fit perfectly over your MAF housing.

The difference in flow probably isn't a whole lot, you're right. however, the shape of the HKS (mushroom) will free up a TON of space in your battery area to facilitate mounting of other things (W/M kit resevoir, W/M kit pump). That area IS VERYYYYYY cramped with the long cone filter in it. Both come in a ton of colors too though. BUTTTTTTT.... you can just change the color of the HKS whenever you want by buying a new element for $15 at any time. Hell... you could keep multiple elements on hand and change them up with your mood if you want and not have to replace the whole damn thing. Good example.. I have a tri-tone engine trim. I can get all three of the trim colors... and change them up if I wanted.

that's a pretty lame reason (color swapping) but its an option if you wanted without having to fully replace.

ok so let me get this straight, you took the vtda cover off and now are getting a filter to replace the K&N filter that comes with the VTDA.

please do me a favor?????? PLZZZZZ

do some data logging on the VAG with the VTDA off and the cone that comes with it vs the HKS that you ordered.

if not no worries, just courious b4 i switch to the shrooms and start trippin out
