Default another one bites the dust....

so yeah last night while driving home from work on the interstate, my lovely little car decides my life is just too good right now and that it would like to **** it up a little. so my timing belt broke and with it so did the rest of my engine, now i have to see if the dealership i bought it from will cover the damages, i have already talked to them and they said once i get an estimate from the Audi dealership on how much its gonna cost( probably 5-6 thousand dollars, yes American) they will discuss whether they feel responsible enough to cover it. so yeah , if your thinking,"mabye i should listen to all these guys on here telling me to change my timing belt, hmmn but i dont want to spend the money......" well have funn paying a **** load to buy a new engine. And yeah i was saving my money to fix it but it happened too soon, GO TO HELL AUDI, WHY THE **** DO YOU MAKE A PIECE OF **** TIMING BELT, ******* ********.

srry about that just a little upset.

how many miles did u have on the car???

I understand ur frustration - but if u did allready know the timing belt had to be changed..
isnt that a little like driving on bald tires & complaining when the tires go?
sucks - I hope the dealer picks up some of the tab...

its not the timing belt its the tensioner. they have made improvements to prolong its life. plus like in the post above you should of known better. but is sounds like you need a entirely new head, probably pistons, and everything along the timing belt. that cost above is mainly labor. you can find a nice used head on ebay for $300-500 and used pistons are not that bad either. If you were doing the labor it could be done for under a grand. this is when you get money in hand and go buy the part you want, can you say AEB HEAD?

Complete reman heads for $850 at cylinder-head.com in Florida. Got my fingers crossed, just turned 60 K, have the dieselgeek kit and the car is scheduled for the shop on Monday.

ugh. I've got 83k on mine, and I'm pretty sure it's the original belt...hoping I can make it until July.

That's like playing Russian roulette every time you turn your car on!
The diselgeek kit is only about $300, if you can DIY that's the way to go! All you would need along with the kit is some G12 Pentosin.

If you really can't afford the kit, call the dealer and ask for a copy of the service records. Maybe it's already been done!
