OK, I have bought a new cable and to the point of installing and the cable end seems to be smaller than the stud that it fits onto. Is this a press fit or do i need a new stud? Thanks!!

Our 2002 TT Quatro 6speed just stopped shifting. Unable to shift into any gear. The connections on the transmission are connected so it must be the bottom of the shift lever where it let go. Anyone have a fix for this or any pics? I hope to look into it this weekend.

 

I have the same car and the exact thing happened to my shifter while on the highway headed home tonight. Ugh. Any advice? Thank you kindly in advance.
