I bought mine from a dealer who had won several eBay awards. This gave me the confidence in the ad, and I had a feeling that if the car was misrepresented I would have the protection from eBay to help me out.

If you are a private seller, some people may be a bit leary. But, I was able to list and sell 2 of my girlfriend's father's Vettes without trouble. Just make sure you spell everything out clearly in the ad, especially payment and shipping. Carfax is a nice thing to have also.

I bought a jeep off ebay, it worked out ok, shipped it from FL to NY.
Try craigslist too, I have bought several vehicles off that and definitely like being able to see/test drive a local car more than the long distance ebay thing.

I bought a 66 stang off ebay and it was a bad decision!

If the dealer has a good record of sales then u should be fine when buying, and dont expect people to buy from you if you've sold like 2 things! I also sold the same stang on ebay, went smoothly, just was very honest about what was wrong with it.

Ya i bought my TT of Ebay. I had an Uncle who lived next to the dealer who posted it on Ebay. I had him go down there and check it out and test drive it for me. Still works fine. Nothin big has ever gone wrong.

Whatever you do......State in Huge red letters "SOLD AS IS". If you don't your screwed, also just be very upfront with the condition of the car and how it runs. The more detail you put into the auction, the easier it will be.

I sold 3 cars on ebay. Never had a problem. I also put down sold as is & told them anything to look for & show as work done.
